Zalando’s decision to axe its private label business has prompted the exit of two senior executives. Christian Baier and Jan Wilmking are both leaving the business, Zalando told FashionNetwork.com.

Baier has been with Zalando since 2012, when he became managing director of zLabels. The private label division, discontinued to allow the e-tailer to focus on its partner brand assortment, closed its doors on 1 April.

Wilmking joined Zalando in 2013 as senior vice president of private brands.

“We are very proud of what [Baier and Wilmking] achieved with their teams and wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” Zalando said.

Eric Bowman has also left the company. Bowman joined Zalando as vice president of engineering nearly five years ago and was instrumental in the creation and development of the company’s tech team. “ We also thank [Bowman] for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future,” the company said.
