Yoox and Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson have teamed up for a collaboration this month that celebrates the e-tailer’s 20th anniversary and the Britishness in its parent company’s DNA.

JW Anderson x Yoox launches this month - Yoox

For the project, Anderson looked back through the JW Anderson archives, pulling on familiar themes and codes to create a one-of-a-kind capsule collection.

Anderson has had links to Yoox since 2011, when he was one of the first participants in The Next Talents, a showcase created by Yoox and Vogue Italia.

With a signature genderless style, the designer quickly became one to watch, winning the ‘Menswear Designer of the Year’ and ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year’ at the 2015 British Fashion Awards – a first in fashion history.

Yoox said he embodies the values that have defined the business since the first click on 20 June 2000, describing JW Anderson as “innovative, liberated and limit-pushing”.

The JW Anderson x Yoox range is an exercise in his inherent Britishness, with a muted elegance running through the design in warm khakis, browns and greys. The collection features felt loafer mules, a signature bag and various genderless creations.

A corduroy trench coat is a hero piece, touching on an essential element of JW Anderson’s heritage: the patchwork. And a pleated skirt and shirt dress with incongruous, asymmetrical lines complete the range.
