In particular, Laurent Bergamo has been promoted to chief commercial officer Americas, Brazil, Europe and Middle East. He first joined the company in 2018 as general manager of the Middle East, before being named chief executive officer of Americas in September 2020.

In his new role, Bergamo will lead Valentino’s retail, wholesale and online distribution channels for the U.S, Canada, and Mexico, as well as future expansion plans in Brazil, Europe and the Middle East.

As of May 1, he will report directly to CEO Jacopo Venturini, who will also oversee the CEOs of Greater China, Japan, South Korea and South East Asia. Namely Mitchell Bacha for Greater China, Masumi Shinohara for Japan and South Korea, and Alessandra Andreani for Southeast Asia and Australia.

The online division, created last year, will continue to be led by Enzo Quarenghi, chief client officer and digital acquisition. Meanwhile, chief commercial officer Marco Giacometti, will leave the company on April 30. Similarly, at the end of May, Beatrice Monguidi, chief retail Europe and retail excellence officer, will depart as well. The company said that both managers wish to pursue other opportunities.

“The revised organization will be reshaped leveraging on talent development and succession planning, with the clear objective of creating a work environment where leadership capabilities and cross-functional collaboration will be the core skills. Also key is the ability to work at hierarchical and functional levels while contributing to international projects and task forces,” Valentino said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Valentino also restructured its finance and operations structure. At the time, it appointed Giuseppe De Mori as its new chief operations and logistics officer, as well as Alberto Fasanotti as its global chief financial officer.

In 2021, Valentino generated a revenue of €1.231 billion, equivalent to a strong 39.5% increase over 2020.
