Jacques Bahbout will take over as chief executive officer at British luxury leather goods brand Smythson following the departure of previous boss, Andy Janowski, towards the end of 2013. Bahbout is also the brand’s owner and chairman. According to WWD, Janowski resigned from the company for ‘personal reasons’, following the birth of his two children.

Xavier Rougeaux, formerly global marketing and communications director at the brand, will now take on the expanded role of chief commercial officer, in which he will oversee all sales channels and merchandising, in addition to his existing responsibilities.

Over the past 12 months Smythson opened a flagship store on London’s Sloane Street and integrated into the London Fashion Week schedule for the first time in September 2013.
