The Original Smiley brand has unveiled a collaboration with the popular baby boutique brand Olivier Baby using “the playful Smiley icon with a range of high-end cashmere.”

The line is made of 100% cashmere wool and is designed for babies and kids up to the age of 12, with the company saying the apparel separates have been individually made and hand stitched in a selection of colourways for both boys and girls.

Olivier Baby is a strong name for Smiley to link up with as the kidswear brand has become a middle class favourite and also benefits from celebrity endorsement, as well as heavy royal exposure.

It’s a popular choice for the British royal family with a number of babies, including the highest-profile babies of them all, future king Prince George and his sister Charlotte, focusing attention on the brand in recent years.

Last year an Olivier Baby cardigan Princess Charlotte wore for her official first birthday photograph sold out fast. And a year earlier, a cardigan worn by her brother was snapped up by shoppers after pictures of him wearing it were published.

The Smiley collection is set to launch later this year across numerous boutique stores in London.
