KITHLAND, the first-ever fashion runway show for Kith, kicked off at Samsung 837 in the Meatpacking District on Tuesday evening, and may be Creative Director Ronnie Fieg’s greatest feat.

The latest Kith 1996 pieces that debuted the retailer's NYFW runway show

The New York retailer unveiled collaborations with Nike, Adidas, Asics, Timberland, New Balance, Columbia, Bape, Off-White, Aimé Leon Dore and Bergdorf Goodman at the show, which chronicles Kith’s growing number of collaborators and relationships as well as how far the brand has come in.

Four years ago, Kith launched its in-house label and since then has launched collections for women and an accompanying store, as well as a kids collection. The NYFW runway show proves that Kith is not a flash in the pan and is poised for longevity all due to the vision of Fieg.

The star-studded affair debuted 90 looks from Kith’s upcoming collection and collaborations between performances from New York rappers Fabolous from Brooklyn, Ja Rule from Queens, The Lox from Yonkers and Mase who grew up in Harlem. The collection was split into three categories—Beach, City and Mountain—and featured Kith’s signature jogger pants, hoodies, bomber jackets, and tracksuits, among others.

Fabolous opened the show before giving way to the first segment, The Beach. Styles included sporty outdoor apparel options for men and women and playful, muted styles featuring Bugs Bunny, the Power Rangers logo, the word ‘MIA’ as a nod to Miami and collaboration pieces with Aimé Leon Dore. Color blocking and stripes were a key trend in this portion and was featured on numerous sweater and outerwear options.

The Beach segment ended with a performance from The Lox, comprised of rappers Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch, and led to the City portion. The City segment made way for ripped jeans, long hoodies, baggy sweatpants, down coats, anoraks, ski masks and collaboration pieces with Bape, Timberland and Bergdorf Goodman.

After the City was the Mountain story, which began with a performance from Mase and featured weather resistant cargo pants and jackets, more down jackets and down anoraks, a hooded robe and a Sherpa capsule that included a bomber jacket. Kith also unveiled the latest from its 96 collection, which added a dose of nostalgia and equal parts patriotism.
