Australian designer Rebecca Vallance has returned to her roots with the opening of a Melbourne flagship store, the womenswear brand's biggest boutique offering to date.

Located in Melbourne's Armadale, the 100 square-metre space is set on the district's prestigious High Street. The modern, minimalist store boasts blonde herringbone parquet flooring, stone benches and antique brass clothing rails, and features natural ceiling-to-floor velvet curtains, leather seating, and antique silver mirrors.

Vallance first launched in London in 2011 and showed her first collection in Paris, but stated a local Melbourne store was crucial for business growth.

"Melbourne has always been a strong market for us; our customers there really understand and appreciate our structured tailoring and polished aesthetic," said Vallance.

"The location and atmosphere of the surrounding area is relaxed, elegant and perfectly aligned with the Rebecca Vallance customer.”

The new store will house Rebecca Vallance Spring 2017 collections. Inspired by the island of Capri, the line boasts an assemblage of elegant pieces, each style exuding a lustrous, summer feel.

Vallance's creations, known for their femininity, have also been spotted on celebrities including Halle Berry and Rachel McAdams.

The Melbourne designer recently collaborated with online luxury retailer Net-A-Porter to create a special occasion wear capsule for e-tailer's customers, and has recently been picked up Harrods, Harvey Nichols and My Theresa. Other international stockists include Revolve, Intermix and Net-A-Porter.

Vallance also has a Sydney store and is stocked in Australian department store major David Jones.
