Rag & Bone hires Kate Moss for its first ad campaign

It’s taken ten years for Rag & Bone’s first ad campaign to see the light of day. The New York-based label has even hired Kate Moss as the face of its womenswear campaign, which will appear in the global press throughout the summer. Just like Kate Moss, who for the campaign was photographed on the streets of London by Craig McDean, the duo behind Rag & Bone – David Neville and Marcus Wainwright – are British, but hit the big time in the US. Their label, which was set up in 2002, has the backing of New York entrepreneur Andrew Rosen and won the CFDA’s menswear award in 2010. The label will arrive in Paris in September, in the new menswear department at Le Bon Marché.

To celebrate their arrival in Europe, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright will show their spring-summer 2013 collection in London on 16th September, in the setting of their Sloane Street flagship store. “It's exciting to present a collection for the first time in our home town and for it to take place in our own store feels really special”, said David Neville. Rag & Bone is still scheduled to appear at New York Fashion Week though, with its menswear and womenswear runway show taking place on 7th September.

In addition to the boutique in London, Rag & Bone currently has six stores in New York and flagships in Boston, Washington and Tokyo. Two new openings are planned for this September, in Seoul and Los Angeles.
