RVCA's European presence is expanding decisively. The Californian label is the property of the Billabong group, which also owns Billabong and Element, and until now it was the less established of the three labels. But by tapping into the Australian group's resources, RVCA is now set to become more influential, especially in Europe. The label's brand identity is steeped in board sports culture, with an added hip hop, rock and art vibe. The blend is at the root of RVCA's new retail concept, now deployed at the Billabong store in Barcelona and the Element store in Hossegor, France.

The two stores will host corners showcasing RVCA's spring/summer collection, with its latest range of surfing shorts and other limited edition lines, including items designed in collaboration with artists from RVCA's Artist Network programme.

In parallel, RVCA is busy energising its wholesale presence in Europe which, according to the group, is increasing significantly in Spain, France, Italy, the UK and Portugal. RVCA is also boosting its online distribution on several fashion marketplaces.

In the 2015-16 fiscal year, closed at the end of July, the Billabong group reported an 18.9% sales growth for RVCA. Compared to the previous year, the brand was up 25% in Europe, where RVCA is still not fully developed.
