French department store group Printemps has appointed Jean-Baptiste Dacquin as human resources director. He had been the managing director of French label Claudie Pierlot since 2019.

At Printemps, Dacquin will be in charge of recruitment, career mobility, employee training, the Printemps Academy and trade union relations.

A graduate of the French management school EM Normandie, Dacquin began his career in recruitment consulting before joining Kiabi, where he worked for 12 years in HR and operational roles, both in France and abroad. He joined the SMCP group in 2012, first as group head of HR then as managing director of Claudie Pierlot, for three years.

“The appointment of Jean-Baptiste Dacquin is in line with the progress of our group’s recovery plan launched nearly two years ago, based on restoring the enthusiasm of our customers, in France and abroad, in their experiences both in-store and on our e-tail sites. The expertise Jean-Baptiste has acquired in his various operational and HR positions make him a key asset in stepping up the pace of the group’s transformation that is currently under way,” said Jean-Marc Bellaiche, president of the Printemps Group.

The group employs 3,000 people, and operates 20 Printemps branches in France and an international one in Doha, Qatar, as well as nine Citadium stores. The group, which is planning to open a Printemps branch in New York in 2024, also operates the Place des Tendances and Made in Design e-shops.
