Designer Christophe Lemaire rebranded his label on the day of his runway show Wednesday in Paris, lopping off his first name but focusing on his trademark unfussy outerwear and functional pieces.

Having parted ways with Hermès in October after a number of successful years in charge of the Parisian luxury brand's womenswear collections, Christophe Lemaire appears to be embracing 2015 with gusto. First up, ahead of the show the brand announced a name change and a new logo and set out its status as "a collective, independent project led by Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran," the first time Lemaire's studio director and partner has been pushed to the fore.

Lemaire sent out high buttoning double-breasted outerwear, layered knits and herringbone tweed coats, all worn with a mixture of pants: some slim cut styles in denim that tapered down to break above the ankle bone, and other pleated styles with more volume.

With Lemaire's taste for keeping things simple it was no surprise to see black biker boots were worn throughout, looking sharp with double-breasted suits and relaxed with a collarless blazer-blouson and a mohair coat. The collection finished with a final flurry of enveloping wrap pieces, from shirts and sweaters to warm ponchos. This season's accessories included fine leather gloves, utility-belt style pochettes and fine silk neck scarves tied à la mid-70s Jagger.
