The fashion brand, established in 1965 and currently under the creative director of Peter Copping, will present its Summer 2016 collection at the end of IMG’s inaugural showcase of Resort collections.

The runway debut will take place on May 20 in the Runway at Carriageworks.

Alex Bolen, Chief Executive Officer of Oscar de la Renta LLC said, “We are very excited to partner with IMG and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia for our first show in Sydney. We look forward to bringing the world of Oscar de la Renta to stylish Australians.”

IMG decided to make Australia the home of Resort Collections last year to tap into the highly profitable market of trans-seasonal clothing. Australia’s first global event focused on Resort Collections will run from 15 May through 20 May, 2016.
