Mark Hommelberg joins Garcia Jeans as new CEO

Dutch brand Garcia Jeans has appointed Mark Hommelberg as its new CEO. Hommelberg succeeds Marco du Pre, who led the label for three years.

Before joining Garcia Jeans, Hommelberg worked as managing director at multi-brand retailer Men at Work for fifteen years. At the chain, where he remains a shareholder, Hommelberg fulfilled multiple roles including buying director and commercial director. Annemarie Uleman succeeded Hommelberg at Men at Work.

“Garcia aims to be one of the best business partners in the industry for partners who are committed to growing together. We have great ambitions for the future, but [for now] we have to focus on making a positive impact on our company within a short timeframe,” Hommelberg said, in a press release.

Fall/Winter 2018 will be the first season in which Garcia will implement operational developments that will have an impact on both the shop floor and online, according to the label.

In addition to the appointment of Mark Hommelberg, Garcia Jeans also named Rutger Koenen as its new marketing manager.

Garcia Jeans offers collections for men, women and children. Maurizio and Isabel Garcia who started the company as a denim brand founded the label in 1977. From 1995 onwards Garcia offers full collections. Three years later a kidswear range was added.
