Toronto is showing its support for Gaultier months after the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts opened Love is Love: Wedding Bliss for all à la Jean Paul Gaultier, an exhibit devoted to Gaultier’s wedding gowns and suits.

Gaultier will kick off Toronto Fashion Week with Blasberg for ‘In conversation,’ where he will share his insights and thoughts. The iconic fashion designer began his fashion career in Paris in 1970 and later established his own fashion house in 1976. He notably created the costumes for Madonna’s Blonde Ambition Tour and Confessions Tour, designed outfits for Marilyn Manson, and designed the wardrobe for the film The Fifth Element.

In addition to holding ‘In Conversation,’ Toronto Fashion Week will feature the latest collections and see-now-buy-now pieces from designers such as Pink Tartan, UNTTLD, Lucian Matis and Bustle.

TFW will also host an exclusive screening of Franca: Chaos and Creation, with the film’s director Francesco Carrozzini. The film follows Carrozzini’s late mother, Franca Sozzani, and offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the former editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue, her creative process and her past vulnerabilities.
