The five companies have launched scholarship contests open to fashion and design graduates or professionals looking to further develop their skills and give a boost to their careers.

Balmain and Chantal Thomass will both sponsor one student each for the MA Fashion & Luxury Brand Management course at Istituto Marangoni in Milan and Paris.

Italian fashion house Ermanno Scervino will grant a scholarship to attend the MA Fashion Design Collection & Marketing course in Florence, while Etro is scouting outstanding talents in the area of prints to support for the MA Fashion Design Womenswear course in Milan.

Lastly, UK furniture retailer will provide funding for one student for either one of the following MA courses: Interior Design, Product Design, Fashion Design Womenswear or Luxury Accessories Design and Management.

Candidates are invited to participate in the competitions, which vary in topics and format, focusing on areas such as fashion design, marketing, digital prints and interior design, until 10 January.

Submissions for the Poliform competition will close on 21 January.
