On the occasion of the imminent Milan Design Week, Furla is launching into the home design and furniture sector. The Italian leather goods label is diversifying its range with the brand-new Furla Home line, which will be unveiled in Milan on April 17. The line is managed by Asian group Magnificat, via a license agreement covering “the development, production and commercialisation of the [Furla] home line collections worldwide.”

“Furla Home is a mix of elements straddling fashion and design. Two worlds that merge and find their legitimacy in clear values such as attention to artisanal processes and technological innovation,” said Furla in a press release, underlining that the new line is characterised by “a minimalistic style, timeless elegance and an aesthetic that does not eschew functionality.” Furla’s first home design collection is composed of tables, armchairs and sofas, with white leather as the dominant material.

Magnificat is a private company that was founded in Hong Kong approximately 20 years ago to support Western brands approaching the Asian market, especially in the object design and distribution sector. Magnificat has offices also in Beijing and Shanghai, and is led by Alessio Sghinolfi. It has worked for Versace and Fendi, among others.

Furla was founded in Bologna by the Furlanetto family in 1927. It started with leather handbags and small leather goods, and later footwear, before gradually expanding its product range by adding eyewear, watches, jewellery, textile accessories and fragrances. In 2021, Furla generated a revenue of €305.8 million.
