The former Guess CEO has been named non-executive director and chairman of the sustainability committee, and will bring his extensive experience in some of the world’s largest fashion markets to support the executive management of Global Fashion Group.

The group said his expertise in developing and implementing market entry and expansion strategies, as well as integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality, will help it achieve new ways of understanding customer insights.

Herrero was the chief executive officer of American clothing brand Guess until last month. Prior to that, he was as head of Asia Pacific at Inditex, the group which owns Zara and Stradivarius, where he spent more than 12 years.

Commenting on Herrero's appointment, Cynthia Gordon, chairman of Global Fashion Group said: “I am very pleased that Victor has joined the GFG Board. His wealth of experience in the fashion industry and across GFG’s operating regions will be extremely positive for the group. I am truly excited about the future of GFG with Victor on the Board and look forward to working together on the next stages of GFG’s development.”

Herrero added: “I am thrilled to have joined the GFG Board. Having worked with GFG during my time as CEO at Guess, I am really excited about the future of the company and am looking forward to working with the other members of the board and the broader management team on the next phase of GFG’s development.”

Global Fashion Group operates in Asia Pacific, Latin America and CIS countries, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine.
