While most business are focused heavily on generating sales today, plenty are also looking to the future and Farfetch said this week that it — along with partner Outlier Ventures (a global Web3 accelerator and investor) — has opened applications for Dream Assembly Base Camp Cohort Two.

Dream Assembly Base Camp is a remote 12-week accelerator program for start-ups “with ambitions to help drive the future of Web3 luxury commerce”.

The particular focus this time will be on “luxury data infrastructure, community tools, digital fashion experience, self-representation and sustainability”.

The program will be tailored to each start-up with participating businesses gaining access to Farfetch’s and Outlier Ventures’ networks of mentors from the fashion, technology and Web3 industries, as well as investors, in support of their future fundraising efforts.

The inaugural year in 2022 saw eight start-ups from five different countries taking part.

Blake Lezenski, Program Manager at Outlier Ventures, said: “We saw through our previous Dream Assembly Base Camp cohort how Web3 technology can have a huge impact on the fashion industry and luxury commerce, creating a new forefront of identity expression, helping redefine a deeper experience for consumers.

“Digital, blockchain-based solutions also have the potential to positively address the biggest issues within the industry such as the counterfeit of luxury products, pollution through fast fashion consumption or waste created by design prototyping.

“This unique program provides an unrivalled opportunity for founders to leverage our combined network to positively define the future of the sector.”

Applications are due by March 24 and the 12-week program will start in mid-April.
