Designer Edward Crutchley is launching an SS22 collaboration with Italian cruelty-free outerwear brand Save The Duck complete with a campaign shot by Crutchley and his team.

It’s the first collab for Crutchley “lending his expertise in textile design and fabrication to the technical outerwear category”.

So what does the collection comprise? The partners have revisited “iconic” styles from the Save The Duck archive for an “elevated” capsule, created from 100% recycled materials.

But there are also athleisure pieces, another category first for Crutchley, alongside casual accessories “echoing the camouflage and check prints of the core capsule”.

The designer is known for his gender-neutral approach to his work, “centred on his core belief that apparel-items are non-gendered by default and it is wider society and context that project traditional gender stereotypes onto these”. With all that in mind, the collaboration has been conceived as fully unisex.

It’s launching in Save The Duck’s five global flagships and selected "top-tier retailer partners” globally, as well as on the save the-duck.it e-commerce platform.

“What was really exciting about working with Save The Duck was the opportunity to be able to distil the essence of my own handwriting through their amazing technical know-how and really push forward how sustainability can be championed to a larger audience,” Crutchley told Fashionnetwork.com. “Save The Duck were very open as to how we work but the key element was making pieces that speak to their audience and how I could add something new that spoke of my world – which is exactly the type of challenge I relish.”
