Iconic British footwear brand Dr. Martens and Slam Jam have collaborated for the first time to reissue Dr. Martens’s 1461 model. Slam Jam is a versatile Italian fashion distributor founded by Luca Benini in 1989 with the aim of catering to the alternative fashion scene, even before the term ‘streetwear’ was coined. Their approach was to explore “the intersection between workwear and its adoption by electro-pop subcultures.”

The 1461 shoe has been adapted and tweaked with a nod to the footwear used by construction workers, which prioritises protection and visibility.

The evergreen three-eyelet model comes in black leather, with uppers and sides fashioned after protective footwear, featuring reflective details and the type of laces usually found on work jackets to improve their visibility. The shoes are further customised with Slam Jam's ‘(Un)corporate Uniforms’ logo and Dr. Martens’s signature yellow stitching.

The Dr. Martens X Slam Jam shoes will be available at the two brands’ stores and e-shops from October 20.
