It has just recruited Kathy Keown to serve as the new president for its flagship brand. Keown is quite familiar with the world of California premium denim. She was previously vice president and brand director at AG Jeans. She is taking over from Amy Williams, who has held the position since 2011.

Williams, who joined Citizens of Humanity in 2009 after stints at Gap, Lucky Brand and founding her own brand Peek, has been named CEO.

The company has also announced the hiring of the Japanese executive Hiro Ikuta, from the Japanese company Itochu. Ikuta has been named to the newly-created position of director of fabrics and textiles.

Citizens of Humanity, which has a vertically integrated production, boasts a presence in 1,300 locations in 35 countries.
