Birkenstock has opened its second Italian store at 164 Via del Babuino, Rome. The 63-m2 shop showcases over 230 different models from the German footwear brand's collections, also including a range of handbags.

Birkenstock is one of the top five global footwear brands, enjoying brand recognition of more than 80 percent. The company was founded in 1774 in Germany. It is still run by the same family, now managed by the sixth generation of Birkenstocks. It has over 3,800 employees worldwide and has already sold over 3.5 million pairs of shoes and sandals.
