The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry, the official authoritative body for the sports industry, has announced the appointment of Marc Pinsard, Deputy Senior General Manager, Global Brand Marketing Division at Asics, as new chairperson for the institution’s CISO committee.

Marc Pinsard succeeds the former managing director of Sport 2000 International, Wofgang Schnellbuegel, as CISO’s new chairman - WFSGI

Succeeding Wolfgang Schnellbuegel, Pinsard will head the committee that represents WFSGI’s voice, promoting equal benefit to all members of the sporting goods community at large, and maintaing relations with International Federations, such as football’s FIFA and Olympic committee ICO.

“We are in close collaboration with sport governing bodies such as the International Olympic Committee and International Sport Federations to simplify and align the Manufacturing Identification Guidelines. Therefore it is very important that with Marc we have found a successor who adequately has a wealth of experience in brand marketing and relations to International Sports Organizations”, said Robbert de Kock, WFSGI Secretary General.

The new CISO chairman joined the committee in 2011, and is considered a veteran in the sporting goods industry. His experience credentials include 20 years working in this industry, with positions at Babolat and Reebok before joining Asics in 2009.

At Asics, his mission has been to drive and execute the brand’s global marketing strategy, to strengthen the company’s equity globally and achieve its strategic business objectives. Since November 2013, he has also been co-leading the internal task force for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
