Toronto-based outerwear brand Canada Goose has launched a spring capsule in collaboration with Chinese designer Angel Chen, mixing eastern and western aesthetics with an experimental approach. Released on January 15, the collection is now available at select Canada Goose stores and wholesale partners, as well as on the brand's e-commerce website.

Chen, who has already collaborated with a number of big-name fashion houses, is a promising young talent from China. Not only does the designer boast a singular aesthetic that blurs the boundaries between east and west, she also pushes boundaries with timeless, genderless collections, reflecting two of the most notable current trends in the fashion industry.

Canada Goose invited Chen to reinterpret some of its classics for the collaboration, creating 13 ready-to-wear pieces, blending innovation and tradition, for both men and women. The collection reflects the Chinese designer's ultra-colorful universe, offering pieces in bold red and two different shades of pink that will brighten up any wardrobe.

Among the collection's headliners are the women's Snow Mantra Cropped parka, which can be worn upside down for a unique twist, and the hybrid men's Snow Mantra Adaptable parka, from which the hood, lower part and sleeves can be removed, allowing the piece to be worn in four different ways. The whole collection plays with volumes and proportions, reflecting Chen's experimental approach with modern flair.

"Canada Goose is iconic, the reference for outerwear in the world, and it was so exciting to work with their heritage pieces, reinterpreting them through a new lens for this collection," said Chen in a release. "This collection represents the transition from winter in Canada to spring in China. It is a dream watching it come to life through my eyes on the runway to seeing it uniquely styled in the city."

First unveiled during Shanghai Fashion Week in October, the collection also includes a vest, a rain jacket, a logo sweater, a down jacket, a bomber, a hoody, and a convertible crossbody bag.
