New data from Adobe shows that between November 1 and November 24, US consumers have already spent $6.32 billion via their handsets.

These figures, culled from monitoring the top online retail destinations in the US, also reveal that total online spend -- i.e., via desktops as well as smartphones and tablets -- is already at $26.8 billion, up 8.5% on 2014.

Mobile is now responsible for 46% of visits to retail sites (35% smartphone, 11% tablet) and for 24% of sales.

However the holiday season is still young and while the average online order value has already jumped by 7% to $125.63, Adobe is forecasting that total seasonal sales will have increased by 11% by year's end.
